While responding to a poser as to how the scores were arrived at, the VC said, “the scores are based on the average scores obtained by candidates calculated from the JAMB and Post-UTME exams. The cut-off is then obtained on the basis of the lowest score by a candidate on the list of those to be admitted on Merit. JAMB recommends that 40% of all candidates should be admitted by Merit. WAEC results are not used in the calculation.”
The cut off-marks for the various courses are as follow:
Medicine and Surgery 77.00
Nursing Science 69.12
Medical Laboratory Science 64.25
Plant and Biotechnology 50.00
Animal and Environmental Biology 50.00
The Precision NG recalled that UNIMED commenced full academic programme after NUC approval in 2016 and had since graduated its first sets of students in the Basic Medical Sciences programmes.
