Professor Simidele Odimayo will on Thursday February 27 delivers the first ever inaugural lecture of the University of Medical Sciences, UNIMED, Ondo.
UNIMED is the first specialised University in Medicine in Nigeria.
In a statement made available on the institution’s website, the University enjoined members of the public to attend the lecture entitled, “Turning the tides against infectious diseases: The Microbial Pathologist’s Nexus”.

A brief profile of the lecturer, Prof. Odimayo shows that he attended the University of Ilorin where he bagged an MBBS degree. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College.
He currently works at the Microbial Pathology Department of UNIMED. He is also the Dean, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences at the University.
Prof. Odimayo’s research areas are in Infectious Diseases with interest in rotaviruses, malaria, HIV, hepatitis among others.
