The Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure today Monday says it won’t entertain bail application for the founder of the Akure based religious outfit, Sotitobire church, Prophet Babatunde Alfa.
Justice Olusegun Odusola in his ruling against the application made by the defendants’ counsel, Olusola Oke however added that the court would give the case accelerated hearing.
The defendant, Prophet Alfa and six others are facing trial over the alleged missing of one year old boy, Gold Kolawole inside the church on 10 November, 2019.
The hearing of the suit is expected to continue tomorrow at the high court.

Meanwhile, report says there was mild drama in the court as prosecuting counsel and state Attorney General, Kola Olawoye (SAN) sought the adjournment of the case till June, 2020 for further hearing.
The request by the AG made the defendants to be shaking inside the court.
Olawoye made the request as a result of an appeal filed by the defence Counsel at Appeal Court against the refusal of the high court to grant the defendants bail during the February 2, 2020 sitting.
The AG and the Prophet’s Counsel, Olusola Oke later agreed that the appeal should be withdrawn from the appeal court to enable the trial to continue.
