The Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN has described the late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, a man of many potentials whose exit will be sorely missed by many.
Governor Akeredolu, in a statement he personally signed, expressed shock even as he prayed God for the repose of the soul of the departed Public Servant.
The statement reads: “The frailty of life carries with it the deeper deception of an innocuous state, creating paths peculiar to individuals in life. Along such paths are attractions out of which we make our choices.
“Truly, Abba Kyari’s urbane character may not have been seen by all; but to those who had reasons to know and work closely with him, he represented dynamism, strong character and compassion,” Akeredolu said.
Similarly, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian government over the demise of Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

The senator in a condolence statement issued on Saturday by his Press Secretary, Kayode Fakuyi, described the demise of Mallam Abba Kyari as colossal loss to the Presidency and the Nation.
“It is a matter of public record that the deceased contracted Covid-19 while on National assignment to a foreign land to generate practical answers to the perennial questions the power sector has continually raised over the past years. In other words, the deceased died in active service. He served our fatherland with strength and faith. And he will be remembered for his absolute loyalty to Mr President and his tremendous services to the Nation,” the statement noted.
In the same vein, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Tajudeen Adefisoye, has described late President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, as one of the symbol of loyalty and patriotism.
“Mallam Kyari was a symbol of loyalty and patriotism. He died while on active duty to his father’s land. The man encapsulated hard work and commitment to duties. Nigeria and the presidency will definitely miss him. It is on record that he brought remarkable meticulousness and dignity to his job as the Chief of Staff to President Buhari. It is also instructive that Abba Kyari consistently placed national interests far and above any other pecuniary interests in the cause of his job until he breathed his last,” Adefisoye opined.
