The Precision NG recalled that the committee was initiated by Engr Ropo Alabi to ensure that the people of the community most especially the vulnerable get the support of the well to do among the community due to the lockdown as a result of covid-19.

In his address at the flag-off of the distribution, Mr Akin Oluwole, National President of Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi, stated that the foods and materials to be distributed are for the vulnerable and no one would be discriminated upon during the exercise.

THE ADDRESS OF THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE IJARE EGBE OMO ELEWE OBI, MR. AKIN OLUWOLE, ON THE OCCASION OF THE PRESENTATION OF PALLIATIVES TO IJARE COMMUNITY ON 14TH MAY, 2020, AT IJARE

Good afternoon great sons and daughters of Ijare. You are all welcome to today’s historic event. The event is historic because it demonstrates the sincere love for one another and passion for the development of humanity which the people of Ijare consider as the essence of human existence.

When the Ondo State Government began the battle to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus across the length and breadth of our dear, state, dissipating all the available resources at its disposal, we the people of Ijare did not only appreciate the state government for rolling out various measures to ensure that the deadly disease has no foothold in the state but felt that the state government deserves our support by assisting it to disseminate information about the disease and also educate our people about the need to adhere strictly to the government’s instructions on measures to prevent its spread.

As a result, we are delighted to say here that regular hand washing, social distancing and the use of nose masks, among others, as recommended by the relevant authorities, especially the state government is being preached and encouraged by us with good compliance recorded within the community.

We must not forget to mention here that, with the cooperation of all the residents, we are conscious of the movement of everyone in the town to ensure the state government achieves its avowed dream of containing the spread of the deadly virus.

Besides asking our sons and daughters working or resident outside the town or Ondo State to comply with the relevant directives, we have also mandated them to remain where they are for now, all in a bid to prevent the spread of the disease.

So, as a peaceful town which takes pride in the physical wellbeing of its people, we are mindful of the effects of the compliance with the stay-at-home order and closure of markets on our people. For this reason, not a few indigenes have donated palliatives in terms of foods to complement the state government’s efforts aimed at cushioning the effects of the ravaging pandemic. This initiative is the demonstration of the unity and love that exist among the residents of this ancient town. Therefore, all the food items in this hall were donated free of charge to Ijare by philanthropists for onward distribution to the less privileged.

To achieve this, dear sons and daughters of Ijare, an ad-hoc non-partisan Committee was initiated by Eng (Chief) Ropo Alabi under the auspices of Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi to essentially sensitize Ijare residents about the pandemic and to equally make available palliatives to them, especially, the vulnerable.

The committee sincerely called for the donation of the foods and distribution for which all the houses/quarters in Ijare and satellite sister community Araromi Omoladan have been enumerated.

Sincere appreciation to the following people;

Mr Akin Oluwole (National President, Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi),
Barrister Bankole Oluwajana,
Gen. J. A. Omosebi (Rtd),
Chief J. A. ONI (JAONI),
Dr L. L. Ibukun,
Engr Akin Odumakinde,
Mr. Pius Ayodele,
Hon. Fisayo Falodi and
Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi, UK Branch for their love and passion for the community and humanity.

We must not forget to say this: political or religious colouration will not play any role while distributing the food items.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Long live Ondo State!
Long live Ijare!

Ujare a gbe a o!
Thank you and God bless!
