The Ondo state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has reminded Muslim faithfuls in the state on the need to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

NIPR in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Lamidi Ishola and Secretary, Sunday Omosule which was made available to newsmen in Akure, the Ondo state capital, noted that Eid-el-Adha became a major festivity in the Muslim world today due to the sacrifice and submission to the will of God by Prophet Ibrahim.

The Public Relations body also noted that the submission to the will of God as displayed by Ibrahim and his Son, Ismail was legendary, adding that in the face of trial, they both decided to undertake the command of God that the father (Ibrahim) should sacrifice his (Son) as a form of worship.

Ondo NIPR said such exemplary obedience to God is rare, urging Nigerians to take a clue from the lessons of Eid-el-Adha in order to overcome the present challenges facing the country particularly as covid-19 pandemic ravages.

The body emphasized that a lot of sacrifices are needed by every believer in God in order to live above board and not go beyond the dictates which He (God) has laid down in the Holy Books.
