Ondo 2020: Deji Of Akure Meets NURTW Members, Sues For Peace

The Deji and the Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II has called on political stakeholders in Akure to play the game by the rule ahead of the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election in the state.

Oba Aladetoyinbo stated this at a peace meeting between warring factions of the members of NURTW allegedly loyal to APC and PDP.

According to the Palace Media Office, the meeting which was attended by leaders of both factions amidst a rumor of possible clash between them was meant to break truce and ensure that no violence is recorded before, during and after the October election.

The APC members led by the state Chairman of NURTW, Comrade Jacob Adebo aka Idajo promised that no member of the union will be involved in any violent act. He promised the Monarch that the union members will remain law abiding and carry out their campaign within the ambit of the law.

The Youth Leader of the PDP in Akure south, a former branch Chairman of NURTW urged the state leadership of NURTW not to intimidate or molest any member of the opposition party especially the PDP in the build up to the general election.

Oba Aladetoyinbo thanked the union members for their resolve to conduct themselves peacefully prior to the election and after.
