The 2nd of November 2020 has been proposed as the earliest tentative date for the official re-opening of state-owned and private higher institutions in Ondo state.
The Precision NG reports that a document released on Monday by the covid-19 taskforce added that federal educational institutions should await further directive from the federal government before reopening.
The document stated in part:
“The proposal of an earliest TENTATIVE date for resumption is PRIMARILY a call to action for the leadership of tertiary institutions to make appropriate and adequate preparation that conforms to the public health guidelines for prevention of COVID-19 issued by the Ondo State government and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
“Before a School can formally announce its date for resumption, the school must first be certified as safe and compliant with the public health guidelines regarding COVID-19 prevention and receive a WRITTEN APPROVAL from the State government or its agency assigned with such responsibility. Schools must apply in writing to the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health,” the document noted.
