…says he is eminently qualified
Ahead of the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu SAN had expressed his preference for the gubernatorial candidate of PDP, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede SAN insisting that he is eminently qualified to hold the position of the governor of Ondo State. Akeredolu gave the hint on Monday during an interview on Sunrise TV.
When asked whether he was nervous by the coalition against his second term bid by his close allies, Akeredolu, who is also contesting under the platform of APC asked, ” who are my allies? I have never been in the same party with Mimiko, so he couldn’t have been my ally. His third force only exists on your media houses, they are not on ground in Ondo state. Mimiko is a spent force”
Asked again whether he would not be facing stiffer contest with Eyitayo Jegede now that he has time to campaign, Akeredolu replied this way “Tayo is worthy of the office, he is good, he is learned. Unlike some who are neophytes and nincompoops to whom we cannot surrender Ondo State. But as for Tayo, whichever way it goes, we will still be friends. We are colleagues, I have no doubt about him running good governance, he is eminently qualified” Akeredolu affirmed.
On this note, the people of Ondo State have commended the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party for fielding an unblemished personality, Mr Eyitayo Jegede SAN as its gubernatorial candidate whose character remains unassailable even by an incumbent governor.
