Jegun of Ile Oluji, in Ondo State, Oba Olufaderin Adetimehin, has commended the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic in the town, Prof Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin, for his exemplary leadership qualities and prudent management of the resources of the young Polytechnic, leading to its rapid transformation.
Also, the Ile-Oluji National Union, Akure chapter, praised him for placing the polytechnic on a sound footing among its peers in the country especially in the areas of infrastructural development and courses accreditation.
The royal father, a Doctor gave the commendation in a letter to the rector following a recent tour of facilities in the institution by the Jegun-in-Council, led by Oba Olufaderin.
A statement by the institution’s spokesman, Mr Sanmi Enigbokan said that in the letter, dated 26th August, 2020, the monarch acknowledged the polytechnic’s support to the hosting Ile Oluji community and its environs since it took off.

He said the letter expressed the Jegun-in-Council’s warm appreciation to Fasakin for the impressive development of the young Polytechnic which has made it a point of reference to other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
According to the statement: “The Royal Father commended the Rector for his pioneering efforts in building the Polytechnic from the beginning to its present enviable status; and for the considerable progress elicited in the on-going execution of infrastructural development of the Institution.
“He remarked that he was exceedingly marveled with the pace at which the execution of buildings is progressing since the last visitation he made to the Institution.”
It quoted Oba Olufaderin saying: “The extent of works done, and more importantly the quality and standard of works in all cases portray very high integrity and the impeccable supervisory roles of the Rector and his Executives”.
The statement added: “The Jegun, therefore,encouraged the Rector and his Management team to sustain the current tempo of the on-going infrastructural development of the Institution, and should not to be distracted.”
“In the same vein, the Ile-Oluji National Union, Akure Branch, comprising notable indigenes of the host community, has thrown its weight behind the Rector for his untiring efforts in positioning the new Polytechnic on a sound footing among its peers in the Federation, particularly in the areas of infrastructural development and accreditation of courses.
“The Union’s President, Bldr. Olu Olowoshile and Secretary, Elder Olu Omotayo, in a jointly signed letter of commendation dated 24th August, 2020, affirmed that Prof. Fasakin’s uncommon determination, vision and zeal have taken the Polytechnic to an irreversible and enviable height, while describing the feat as worthy of the total support of its union members.
“The Union stressed that the unprecedented development of the Institution under Prof. Fasakin’s watch should not be taken for granted as this has endeared the Rector to the host community and his name written on the sands of time as the pioneer Rector of the Polytechnic.”
