Just In: UNIMED Shut Down As Hoodlums Attack Security Personnel

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo city, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi has announced the closure of the institution following an attack on one of its security staff during the ongoing protest across the city.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, protesters barricaded major roads across Ondo city, burning Tyres thereby causing gridlock among road users.

The University management in a memo obtained by The Precision NG noted that students should vacate the premises with immediate effect.

Though the University was silent on the attack on its staff, its was gathered by our correspondent in Ondo, that hoodlums who have hijacked the #EndSARS protest, attacked the security staff manning the Odosida campus of the university.

Leaving Ondo, reports coming in from Akure the state capital also revealed that all major roads in the city centre have been blocked by protesters demanding for end to police brutality.

This has forced most commuters to trek long distances to reach their destinations.

The Precision NG recalled that the governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has appealed to the protesters to embrace the window of the judicial panel of inquiry to submit memorandum on their grievances against the police SARS unit.

The judicial panel would be inaugurated later on Tuesday.
