Nigeria @ 60: Ondo NOA Asks Nigerians To Defend Nation’s Unity

As Nigerians mark her 60th Independence anniversary, the Ondo state Directorate of  National Orientation Agency (NOA) has charged people of the state to rise up to the task of defending Nigeria’s unity.

The Director overseeing the affairs of Ondo NOA, Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa  gave the charge in a congratulatory message to Nigerians on the occasion of the 2020 Independence Day celebration.

She stressed that the responsibility of ensuring the unity of nation and the sustenance of  various level of government developmental agendas is the task of all Nigerians.


In a statement made available to The Precision NG in Akure through the Agency’s Public and Media officer, Ralph Oguntibeju , said this is a time for self-examination and reflection on our past, as well as looking forward to securing a much better future.

While congratulating Nigerians on this year independence day  Mrs Famuyiwa also commended the citizenry for massively supporting the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to deliver on its developmental Agenda, noting that the successes so far recorded by the administration in security and anti-corruption would not have been possible without popular support.


”As we look to the future, we must recognise that independence, like liberation, is a process and with it come obligations and responsibilities across the board. We must build on the lessons of our fore fathers that demonstrated the values of sacrifice, courage, and resilience during their quest for independence.

The NOA boss also charged Nigerians to use the 2020 Independence Day to reflect on their individual contributions to national development with a view to making more meaningful inputs in the years ahead.

She therefore urged Nigerians to embrace patriotism and make necessary sacrifices in the interest of building a better Nigeria for all and for posterity.
