The Ondo State Acting Director of Media and Publicity, Leye Igbabo has challenged the audacity of the former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Ayo Fayose over reservation of seat for the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon Alfred Agboola Ajayi in Ondo PDP.
Leye Igbabo who was responding to a question raised by a presenter at a radio program today, titled “Lagbo Oselu” on Crest 87.7FM in Akure, said the former governor cannot determine which seat in Ondo State PDP was reserved for the deputy governor, who is currently sojourning in ZLP.
“Much as the Ondo deputy governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi has a right to belong to a party of his choice at any time, and much as we are not going to reject his coming back to the party if he so desires, former governor Ayo Fayose lacks the audacity to determine which seat is reserved for the deputy governor in Ondo State PDP” The Acting Director fumed.
Speaking further, Mr. Leye Igbabo said “The former governor was not there for the party in Ondo State when the need arose. He did not act as a leader he wished to be now. I doubt if he had ever discussed with the party leadership in the State after the October 10, election”
“The deputy governor will operate as a party member in Ondo State and not in Ekiti State and so if he desires to rejoin PDP, he knows the channels to go through within Ondo State and not through any suspicious route” The Acting Director declared.
On who is the southwest leader of the PDP, Mr Leye Igbabo said ” There is no controversy over that. The Southwest leader, of course, is the governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde.”
“Whether by constitution or norms, he remains the leader of the region. He acted as the leader, he did as the leader, he talks as the leader, he means well as the leader. He is a leader in the time of prosperity and in the time of adversity. He was there for us when we needed him. We can’t just be ungrateful” Leye Igbabo submitted.
