Members of the the Academic Staff Union of Universities have agreed to call off their strike .
The eight-month industrial action has paralysed academic activities in the nation’s universities.
The union reached the agreement at a meeting with the government team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja.
The government also agreed to increase the total payment to the union to N70 billion.
