Shola Ilesanmi, Hakeem Gbadamosi, Patience Ibeh, Others Shine At Ondo State Media Awards

For the second time in two months, OSRC’s ace reporter, Shola Ilesanmi has been honoured for his outstanding performance and brilliance in the discharge of duties.


The latest honour is courtesy of the Ondo State Media Awards where Shola got an award as Outstanding Television Reporter of the Year for 2020.


The event and 10th edition of the awards was regarded as the most glamorous media event in Ondo State.


The Deputy Governor-elect of Ondo state, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Commissioner in SUBEB, Princess Olufunmilayo Brown, chairman, Ondo state house of Assembly Committee on Information, Hon. Gbenga Omole, a member of the APC National Campaign Council in Ondo state, Dr A.S Ahmad, Olupenmen of Upenmen, Oba Ebenezer Ogunmolasuyi and his wife, the Regent of Aaye, Princess Taiwo Agboona, Chairman of OSRC Media group, Kunle Adebayo represented by the Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, OSRC, Taiwo Ibitoye, Ondo SWAN Chairman, Wahab Bankole were some of the dignitaries at the occasion.


While presenting the award to Shola Ilesanmi, the chairman, Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Hon. Gbenga Omole said the honour was well deserved because the recipient has made his mark on journalism practice in the state and beyond.


Also speaking, the Olupenmen of Upenmen, Oba Ebenezer Ogunmolasuyi described Shola Ilesanmi as a young, vibrant, and shining light in journalism.


Acknowledging the award, Shola Ilesanmi thanked the organizer for recognizing his modest contributions to societal growth through journalism practice.

Other awardees include Hakeem Badamosi of Tribune Newspaper, Patience Ibeh of Adaba Fm, Adeola Shittu, Francisca Ogunlade, Olayinka Michael, Olumiyiwa Ademulegun, Olayinka Osho, Nuel Ola Elehinle, Prince Adelanke Bakare.


The Award Organizer, and Chairman of Africa Impact media group, Asiwaju Yinka Richards said the awardees were carefully selected because of their contributions to the society.


He said Shola Ilesanmi was also honoured for displaying a thorough sense of professionalism at all times.


Shola is an anchor, a senior editor, and reporter, as well as a producer with the Ondo State Broadcast Media Group, owners of Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC TV), Alalaye 96.5 FM, and Orange 94.5 FM.


He had his journalism education at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo state, and Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State as well as the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa (BMIA) Executive Training Program in Financial Journalism at the Lagos Business School.


He is a recipient of several awards and recognition within and outside the media profession including 2020 Outstanding Journalist of the Year Award by Chronicle Magazine
