Mimiko’s Aide, Taoheed Ajao Passes On

Taoheed Ajao, a senior special assistant to the former governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko on public affairs and communications is dead.

He died at his country home Ondo on Saturday morning at the age of 69.

His burial arrangements according to Islamic rites is already underway, The Precision NG reports.

Ajao who worked mainly behind the scene in the Mimiko’s administration between 2009 and 2017 was the official speechwriter of the governor.

Just five days ago, Ajao penned down a tribute to celebrate his wife’s birthday on his Facebook profile.

Meanwhile tributes have been pouring in for the late Ondo born technocrat.

Bode Betiku, a known figure in the Mimiko government wrote on his death:

“Another candle burnt out. Good nite good bye Tao Tao.”

Another Mimiko’s aide, Dayo Awude wrote:

“Mr Ajao was the official speech writer of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko when he was governor. If you know what it takes to please Dr Mimiko, you will know the stuff Mr. Ajao was made of. He was a brilliant and gentleman in every respect.”

Akinlolu Akinbulumo also wrote on Facebook:

“Highly cerebral, and quintessential gentleman. Like a candle in the wind… Taoheed Ajao. Sleep On Bro.
