COVID 19: ONDO UNIMEDTH GETS BRAND NEW 18 SEATER BUS FOR BETTER RESPONSE.

As part of efforts to elicit better response in combating Covid 19 as the second wave hits harder, the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital has been given a brand new 18 Seater Toyota Hiace Bus.

While presenting the Bus to the management team, led by the CMD, Dr Oluwole Ige, the Special Adviser to the Governor and Acting Commissioner for Health, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye said the Bus was given to the hospital to ease the burden on workers who are shuttling between the Ondo and Akure complexes of the hospital to carry out their duties.

He added that the donation of the bus for staff use is an evidence that the Akeredolu led administration is not just worker friendly but committed to ensuring that every worker in the State has the best welfare that will enable them do their jobs effectively.

The acting Commissioner opined that the present administration has prioritised the welfare of workers in the State and has done everything to make sure they are comfortable.

The health helmsman explained that the dream of a world class Teaching Hospital with multiple complexes for the State University of Medical sciences, is being actualised.

Dr Adeyeye highlighted achievements of the present administration in actualising the Teaching Hospital dream to include; securing accreditation to train Doctors in 20 areas of specialisations, sighing the bill into law, ensuring that consultants that resigned under last administration due to non payment of salaries were replaced, employment of Doctors, Nurses and other Health Workers, erecting befitting edifice for hospital amongst others.

While receiving the vehicle, the CMD of the hospital, Dr Oluwole Ige said the donation of the bus is a point of reference to restore hope and make the management of the hospital believe in the dream of a Teaching Hospital with multiple complexes as it was envisioned from the beginning.

Dr Ige who said the dream which initially looked like a mirage is becoming a reality as most of what was promised has been done.

He thanked the government for being trustworthy and responsive to the delivery of quality tertiary healthcare to the people of the sunshine State.
