Leke Adegbite Wins Journalist Of The Year Award

The general secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council , Prince Adeleke Adegbite has been awarded with the journalist of the  year award.


Adegbite, a staff of Radio Nigeria Positive 102.5 FM Akure, was given the award in recognition of his various contributions to the development of the society through exemplary leadership style, and investigative journalism.


The award was presented to him and 19 others by IYÙN International Organization ( Egbe ÀGBÁRÍJO ÌGBÌMÒ IYÙN L’ÁGBÀÁYÉ).


The event is part  of the activities to mark the IYUN International Women’s Conference held in Akure, Ondo State.


President-General of IYÙN International Organization, (Egbe ÀGBÁRÍJO ÌGBÌMÒ IYÙN L’ÁGBÀÁYÉ), ÀÀRẸ Solomon Runsewe said, the organisation had closely monitored the activities of Prince Adeleke Adegbite and other awardees, in the State for their contributions to the social development the society.


Other awardees are; Pastor Mrs. Jumoke Aborode, President NCWS, Mrs Doris Olukọni, NAWOJ Chairperson, Oba Dr. Taiwo Potoki, , Oba Dr. Asaoye Olajide, Olori Racheal Potoki, Snr. Evang. Kole Akinjeji, The Admin Manager of The Hope Newspaper, Elder Moses Olowu, Mrs. Margaret Olowu, Mrs. Lola Olasunbo, Chief Adekunle Àjàyí, Dr. Mrs. Sidigat Shodehinde, Mrs. Oyindamola Runsewe and others.


The President General commended the awardees for the exemplary leadership explaining that with all hands on deck, the Yoruba Land will be fast developed with its culture upheld.

The Chairman Women Council of the Iyun International Organization, Mrs Oyindamola Runsewe, also commented that the Organization move will go along way in building the good society for better tomorrow.


The Iyun International Women’s Conference 2021 featured Lecture on upholding the family values, ofada rice eating competition, Ayanbirin competition, cultural display among others.


Also at the event, the IYUN International Organisation Empowered selected Widows and awarded Scholarship to some indigent pupils.
