Convocation: Achievers University To Honour Justice Olateru-Olagbegi As 15 Students Bag First Class

Achievers University Owo, Ondo state will on Saturday, April 24, confer the degree award of honoris causa to Justice David Adesuyi Olateru-Olagbegi at the 10th convocation of the institution.

The emeritus judge, legal consultant and mediator would be honored alongside the Registrar, Council for Registration of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Prof. Joseph Odigure and Business tycoon, Mr Foluso Falaye during the event holding at the institution’s Trinity building.

The vice chancellor of the institution, Prof. Samuel Aje dropped this hint at a press conference held at the institution’s senate building on Monday, as part of the weeklong activities heralding the 10th convocation of the 14-year-old varsity.

Prof. Aje while rolling out the statistics of the graduating students said 15 of the 339 students, graduated with first class; 167 with second class upper; 131 with second class lower and 26 had third class.

The Professor of French and Applied Linguistics added that 39 students would be convocating with masters of science degree in Accounting, Business Administration and Computer Science, as well as MBA.

He commended the parents of the graduands for the confidence reposed in the institution to train them as Achievers.

Prof. Aje also informed newsmen that the institution is already planning to start Medicine and Aeronautics and Aviation Technology.

“Discussions have gone far with our partners in establishing a College of Medicine and College of Aeronautics and Aviation Technology in not-too-distant future,” he said.

The Precision NG reports that Achievers University Owo was licensed by the federal government in 2007 and commenced academic session in 2008.
