… Achievers University Is Our Own – Olowo of Owo

The Registrar and Chief Executive of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Prof. Joseph Odigure on Friday commissioned Nigeria’s largest Engineering Faculty building at Achievers University Owo, Ondo state.


Odigure while inaugurating the project, expressed satisfaction that the edifice would add value to the profession in Nigeria and the world at large.

The Precision NG reports that the commissioning of the first phase of the building, is part of the activities marking Achievers University’s 10th convocation.


Other dignitaries at the event were the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, Ogunoye III, who described Achievers University as a project of the Owo people.
“I am marveled by the edifice and the brain behind it, Dr Bode Ayorinde. May God continue to bless you.


“We thank you for bringing the University to Owo. Our people are happy with you and we will continue to support you,” he said.


Earlier, the Pro-chancellor and Founder of the University, Dr Bode Ayorinde in his remarks, disclosed that the 150 metres building, has 20 offices, 9 classrooms and 14 laboratories, that are well equipped to turnaround the face of Engineering profession in Nigeria.


Also, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Samuel Aje, charged Nigerian Academic and Professional Engineers to see the building as a centre for research and human capacity development.


Similarly, the Dean of the University’s College of Engineering Technology, COET, Prof. Henry Ojongbede, thanked Dr Ayorinde for investing in the project, adding that staff of the College would pursue the vision of University with great zeal.


The tour of the building was later embarked upon by the COREN Boss, Olowo of Owo, Dr Ayorinde, the VC and other invited dignitaries.


The institution’s Director of Works, Engr Adebayo Adesida took the guests through the facilities in the building. The workshop housing industrial machines was also toured.
