Activist, Deji Adeyanju has written a petition to the US secretary of state on the need to investigate Nigerian minister of communication, Dr Isa Ali Pantami over links with foreign terrorist organizations.

Adeyanju, had in the letter obtained by The Precision NG, written through the US embassy in Nigeria, urged them to permanently place Pantami on terror watchlist, if is truly established that he has links with terrorist organizations like Taliban and AlQaeda.

Pantami recently came under public scrutiny after a Nigerian newspaper – Daily Independent published a report that the Gombe state born Islamic cleric had been put on US terror watchlist.

Daily Independent had since retract the story and apologized to the minister.

Pantami in his defence of the allegation, said he has no link with terrorists, as he had in the last 10 years preached against terrorism, particularly Boko Haram, who have been terrorising Nigeria in the last one decade.

However, recent report on the minister, available on Nigerian online newspapers, showed that Pantami had once venerated terror groups like AlQaeda and the Talibans in his past Islamic lectures.

Pantami had responded saying his preachings have been guided by what Islam dictates.

The latest letter by Deji Adeyanju to the US government comes on heels of the recent revelations on the minister, which indicates that he once supported terrorism through his preachings.

Adeyanju in the letter noted that Pantami can’t be trusted with the nation’s database being communication minister, whose stand on terrorism remains questionable.
