AAUA Security Officers Get New Kits As Management Maps Out Anti-Crime Measures

The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has promised to continue to do its best towards securing the lives and property of members of the University Community as well as visitors to the citadel of learning.


The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, gave these assurances on Monday (May 17, 2021) while unveiling a new set of uniform, kits and equipment aimed at boosting the effectiveness and morale of the officers and men of the University’s Security Unit.

Prof. Ige, who disclosed that several measures are being considered to ensure the safety of lives and property, including of vehicles parked on the campus, called on the men of the Security Unit to double their efforts towards total eradication of crime and anti-social behaviours in and around the campus.

He said, “We will continue to do everything within our reach to ensure maximum security of lives and property of everyone on campus. In addition, we will continue to support the Security Unit of the University.

We will provide whatever is needed because if the campus is secured and peaceful, then all of us will work with peace of mind and fervor.”

The Ag. VC also charged the Unit to ensure that its men are neatly and well kitted at all times while going about their duties on campus.

Earlier, the Acting Chief Security Officer, Mr. ’Seye Alademomi, had led his men to welcome the Ag. Vice Chancellor and his team with a guard-of-honour and a parade.

Mr. Alademomi pledged that his men would double their efforts to improve on the existing peace and security on the campus, even as he solicited the support of Management towards the provision of some needed logistics and gadgets.

Present at the ceremony were the Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Arajulu; Bursar, Mrs. Olubunmi Ologun, FCA; Coordinator of the University Library, Mr. Tunde Ademodi, as well as Deans, Directors, and other top officers.
