Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho on Saturday stormed Akure, the Ondo state capital to drum support to the proposed Yoruba nation or Oduduwa Republic.
Igboho who on arrival proceeded to the palace of the Deji of Akure, was received by some high chiefs in the palace.
While at the palace, Igboho used the opportunity to call on traditional rulers in southwest to support the movement to actualize Yoruba nation.
The activist said the time has come for the Yoruba people to decide their fate, adding that recent developments is an indication that “going our separate ways is the best.”
Earlier, women, youths, motor cycle riders, traders, artisans, and others, who wore attires with the inscription ‘Omo Oduduwa ni mi.’ (I’m Oduduwa’s child), moved round the city to create awareness about the campaign.
Meanwhile, policemen, soldiers, personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; and Amotekun were on the ground to maintain order and ensure that the rally didn’t not degenerate into chaos.
