Despite the suspension of Twitter by the Nigerian government, Nigerians who engaged in the June 12 protest on the platform, hit over 3 million.
With the hashtag #June12thprotest, Nigerians shared their experiences with pictures and videos from the venue of the protest.
Nigerian government had last week Friday suspended Twitter, claiming it activities in the country are suspicious.
Nigerians however defied the government’s order, by accessing the platform through VPN.
“The number of Nigerians who engaged in the June 12 protests, is an indication that the suspension of the platform has no effect on them,” a Twitter user said.
