President Muhammadu Buhari’s social media aide, Lauretta Onochie has asked Nigerians to set agenda for the federal government, as it plans to meet with officials of suspended social media site, Twitter.
The Precision NG reports that Nigeria’s information minister, Lai Mohammed had hinted on Wednesday after the weekly federal executive council meeting, that Twitter officials have contacted the government and now ready for talks.
Twitter was banned last week Friday by the government, but later clarified it was a suspension.
Onochie who posted on her Facebook page on Wednesday evening, had asked Nigerians to set agemda for the government.
She wrote:
“Twitter Has Reached Out To Us For Dialogue and Negotiation. What Agenda should we set for them? 💥PLEASE NO FOUL LANGUAGE. Thank You.”
Her post generated a lot of comments from Nigerians, who believed that Twitter must be ready to follow the rules of the game in Nigeria.
They added that Twitter, a foreign company should be made to open an office in the country and also register with the corporate affairs commission (CAC).
Some Nigerians however queried her post, citing the fact that she had been confirmed as INEC commissioner by the Senate and should not be seen participating in partisan politics.
