Boko Haram Frees Catholic Priest. Two UNICAL Students Regains Freedom

A Catholic Priest Rev. Fr. Elijah Wada who was kidnapped by Boko Haram last month has regained freedom.

Wada was kidnapped on June 30, 2021, along Biu/Damboa road, which he mistakenly followed on his way to Damaturu, Yobe State.

Reliable sources informed The Nation that the priest regained freedom last Thursday evening.

In another development, the two kidnapped Law students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) have regained freedom from their abductors, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The students, Ikpi Okoi-Itam and Vincent Adomi-Okorafor who were kidnapped on July 1 on campus were released on Sunday in the creeks of Calabar South.

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university, Prof. Florence Obi, told NAN that their release had brought much relief to the university community.
