A trailer just had an accident at Akungba Akoko, very close to the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, The Precision NG understands.
Multiple accidents from long trucks have claimed scores of lives in the town in the last two years.
A Facebook user, “Oshk Fela Castro” who posted pictures of the scene called on Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Council Chairman of Akoko Southwest, Augustine Oloruntogbe to find a lasting solution to the ugly trend.
“I posted about this road three days ago in which I called upon Gov. Akeredolu and Hon. Oloruntogbe to investigate why trailers are still plying this road when there’s barricade along Akungba-Ikare road.
“The Information I heard was that some guys are using the barricade to make money from motorists in day and night.
“Gov. Akeredolu and Hon. Oloruntogbe must act faster on this before another serious accident will occur there, although, I don’t pray for this. But prevention is better than cure,” he said.
The Precision NG cannot verify if lives were lost to the accident, but there is presence of officials of the FRSC at the crash scene.
