… Visits Family In Akure
As part of preliminary arrangements for the celebration of the second year anniversary of the Deejays Association of Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter, the executives and other notable members paid an official visit to the family of late Mr Sunday Uloka aka DJ Sunny Bruce in Akure, the state capital to check on their welfare.
Until his death, DJ Sunny Bruce was one of the veterans who agitated for DJs in the state to have an association.
And as a reward for his passion and resilience, he was made the chairman of the then Ondo state DJs Association which formed the foundation for the present Deejays Association of Nigeria, Ondo Chapter.
Sunny Bruce who was a world class act, was the pioneer Disc Jockey to most of the radio stations in Ondo State including Sunshine 96.5FM, Positive 102.5FM, Adaba FM and until his death was a staff of Orange 94.5FM.
According to the spokesman of the Association, DJ Money, the reason for the visit was to check on the welfare of the family and also to remind the family that the efforts of Sunny Bruce have not been forgotten while also informing them about plans to posthumously honour the legend during the Association’s second year anniversary.
Cash gift and other essential commodities were later presented to the family by the Chairman of the Association, DJ Otentik, who told the family it is not going to be a one off but rather a regular routines.
“I just want to express how greatly we have missed our friend and boss who left behind a lasting legacy and this is why we won’t stop checking on the family from time to time to ensure their proper upkeep”
Meanwhile one of the members of the association DJ Tony Cool requested for an account number through which he can send money to the family every month .
While responding, wife of DJ Sunny Bruce, Mrs Uloka Sala Toyin expressed her delight for the kind gesture while praying that the association will continue to prosper in all her endeavors.
“Iam quite short of words but I want to sincerely thank the Association’ for their kind gesture towards me and my children and most especially my late husband thank you all and God bless”
The visiting team led by the chairman DJ Otentik also have the General Secretary ZDJ M.Lewis,the financial Secretary DJ Spark,the state Provost 1 DJ Jydo,the state PRO DJ Money, and a member of the media crew DJ Skuri as well a member of the association DJ Tony Cool all in attendance.
