The University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital ( UNIMEDTH) has commenced the 2021 promotion exercise for eligible workers transferred from HMB to the teaching hospital.
The promotion exercise is the first in the history of the new teaching hospital.
The CMD, Dr. Oluwole Ige while flagging off the exercise, emphasized that excellent work performance and evaluation will drive the promotion process.
This he said would provide qualitative clinical and medical services, as well as raising crops of professionally competent personnel in the discipline of medicines and health related services in Ondo state.
Ige who was represented by the CMAC, Dr. Micheal Gbala enjoined eligible officers to observe COVID-19 protocol while going on with the exercise. He added that there were provisions of water and sanitizers for them.
The CMD, lauded the effort of Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN for deeming it necessary to allow 2021 promotion exercise despite the dwindling national economy.
Dr. Ige explained in details that personnel transferred from HMB to teaching hospital since 2019 were the only eligible workers that would participate in the conduct of the exercise. He said that the whole exercise is to further manage and develop careers of those workers that have transfered their service to the Teaching hospital.
Earlier, Dr. Moses Adewole (DCMAC) Training and Development highlighted that 160 personnel would participate in the 2021 promotion exercise. He explained further that 18 Consultants/Medical officers, 79 in the Nursing cadre and 50 officers in allied health related cadre.
The Director of Administration, Mr. Babatunde Adeeyo stressed that all the participants should come with the following documents, first appointment and confirmation letters, last promotion, certificate of practice and any other added academic and professional certificates for the exercise. He advised them to get prepared for higher responsibilities as they advanced their career with teaching hospital.
