The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, have taken another dimension as some aggrieved leaders and members of the party in the LGA have now dragged the party and its executives to Court.
They asked the court to nullify the recently conducted Ward Congress in the local government, adding that it was a charade.
Addressing newsmen in Akure on Tuesday on behalf of the aggrieved party members, Former Chief Whip in the Ondo State Assembly, Hon Idowu Adebusuyi alleged that names of the ward executives chosen at the Congress in Ifedore LGA was not the wish of the majority of the party members.
He said with such development, the APC would find it hard to win in the LGA.
“I want to say this emphatically that if the party leaders in the State do not look into the issue at stake in Ifedore, there is no way APC can win Ifedore again. So the best they can do now is to get the issues resolved amicably and ensure all members are happy.”
He added:
“More than ninety percent of major stakeholders of this party in Ifedore Local Government are saying no to the Congress that was done in a small corner in the hands of few majority.”
He emphatically said that if the Chairman of the part, Engr Ade Adetimehin and all other leaders are ready to make peace with them, then they will discontinue the court case.
Hon. Adebusuyi however, added that the aggrieved members are the majority in Ifedore LGA and cannot be push aside, stressing that they are the “shakers and movers” of Ifedore LGA and without them APC won’t be able to win any election in the local government.
