… as NJC recommends Akintoroye as substantive CJ In Ondo State

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s in-law, Prof. Alero Akeredolu and a former chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, NBA Okitipupa branch, Orimisan Okorisa as judges in Ondo state.

The NJC at its 95th meeting held on the 15th & 16th September 2021, considered and recommended Akeredolu, Okorisa and 36 others as judicial officers after undertaking necessary processes.

A statement by the NJC’s Director of Information, Soji Oye said while Prof. Alero Akeredolu was recommended as a high court judge, Okorisa is to serve as a judge at the customary court of appeal.

He said the council also recommended the appointment of Hon. Justice Williams Akintoroye as Chief Judge of Ondo state.

Oye said the trio are expected to be sworn-in after approval by Governor Akeredolu and confirmation by the Ondo State House of Assembly.
