Ondo NOA To Work With INEC On Voting Advocacy

The Ondo NOA Director, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu with other management of staff on Friday paid an advocacy visit to Ondo State INEC REC, Ambassador (Dr) Rufus Akeju in Akure.

Mrs Adefolalu said the visit was to strengthen good working relationship between the two government’s establishments.

In a news release by Dolapo Adeniyi of the Public Relations Unit of NOA, Adefolalu said voters education is very important and commended the effort of the INEC boss in Ondo State.

Dr Akeju in his reaction said the mandate of NOA to the electoral process being midwifed by INEC is very weighty and quite vital to the success of the commission’s activities at all levels of governance.

He recalled that the Agency had always been one of the most critical stakeholders of INEC since the return of electoral democracy in 1998 in Nigeria.

While appreciating the agency for such timely visit and on the commission’s mandate of voters Education and sensitization where machinery for the mass mobilization of the citizens have been of immense advantage to the success of INEC’s electoral activities.

The REC said they are currently in the tenth week of the continuous voters registration exercise and they have so far recorded almost 15,000 new additions to the Voters Register in the State.

He assured the NOA boss of their readiness to always work together for greater Nigeria.
