The consultant to ondo state government on waste management and environmental issues, ZL Global Alliance has lauded governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his efforts at saving lives and properties from flood and other natural disaster.
A statement from the company specifically commended the Governor for acquiring additional two amphibious excavavators with the existing one to combat flood in the state.
The statement reads in part, “ZL Global Alliance (Nig.) Ltd (ZLGA) proudly identifies with your good office and exceptional leadership style which continues to place utmost priority on germane issues that could threaten lives, public infrastructure, properties and the peaceful co-existence of the good people of Ondo State.
More emphatically, we enormously thank you for heeding the call on the Ondo State Government for the purchase of 2 (two) additional Amphibious CRAWLERSs (Swamp Buggy) which will complement the activities of the existing equipment (purchased in 2019) for deployment to each of the 3 (three) senatorial districts in the State, to urgently stem/attack incidences and emergency cases of flooding.”
It observed that with the latest development, Ondo state is the only state in the southwest with three amphibious crawlers and with deployment to the all the senatorial districts of the state.
It said:
“… through the exemplary leadership of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State has set the pace as the only State in South West Nigeria which has a State-owned Swamp Buggy in each senatorial district. Reasonably enough, we sincerely believe that each of this Swamp Buggy has grown the asset portfolio of the State.
“This move becomes necessary as the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) continues to place Ondo State on RED ALERT as a result of its topography (steep slopes), river floodplains, impermeable rocks and coastal areas which makes it susceptible to occasional incidences of flooding.”
