The Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ondo State, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu has admonished youths in the country to imbibe and inculcate the core values of discipline, integrity, honesty and patriotism in order to have a better nation called Nigeria.
The NOA Boss gave this admonition at the 2021 Youth Summit held at the Library Board, Akure, the state capital.
While speaking on the the theme of the program, “Youth and Political Building Of Our Modern State, Mrs Adefolalu who was the guest speaker noted that the programme came at the time Nigeria is facing security and social-ecomocic challenges.
According to her, the event would serve as a veritable platform to address some of the challenges facing the youth.
The NOA Boss emphasized that youths are asset to the society and therefore urged them to always engage in productive activities that will add value to them and enhance their capacity in all spheres
Of life.
She charged to them desist from all acts of cyber crime, indecency, hooliganism, thuggery, cultism and other social vices that may be detrimental to their future endeavors.
The NOA Director further encouraged them to be actively involved in politics as well as decision making on issues that are crucial to the growth and development of the Nation.
She enjoined the youths to work for the peace and progress of the country irrespective of ethnic and religious affiliations.
While commending the organizers of the program, Mrs Adefolalu called for Government partnership with critical stakeholders on policies that will guide and motivate youths to imbibe good values.
The General Manager of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Akure, Segun Ojelade who was also a guest speaker at the event encouraged youths to be more cultured and morally upright in their dealings and shun all forms of social vices that could truncate the progress and peace of the society.
