Akure South and North federal constituency hopeful, Mr Babatunde Faro says if elected as the lawmaker to succeed late Adedayo Omolafe, he would support his family with 10 percent of his earnings.

Faro stated this during a media parley with a cross section of Journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Thursday.

The 35-year-old ex banker who described the late Omolafe as a good man, promised not to leave the family if elected.

He said as a young politician he can’t afford to misbehave and let down the youths.

Faro said his agenda would include prioritizing Education, Healthcare and Community support to youths and market women.

“Apart from our constituency project, our people both politician and non-politician, would benefit from our representation.

“Our youths would be engaged in community service and we intend to do this from time to time.

“For me, this is God’s project and I am going into this contest debt free. So there’s no pressure on me to steal. That won’t happen because I’m already self made,” he said.

He said Akure people can’t afford to vote those that would amass wealth to themselves instead of empowering the constituents.

“We have a difficult issue on ground with the death of Hon. Omolafe Expensive.

“Those projects he had put in the budget before his passage needs someone that is vibrant to do a followup and lobby the MDAs and Ministers to implement. I believe I am capable of succeeding of Hon. Omolafe,” he said.

On the possibility of having a consensus candidature in the Ondo State PDP, Mr Faro said there’s nothing bad in such process but would not workout if there’s no free and fair process.

He said even when there’s going to be a consensus arrangement, he would emerge the winner.

He however said a pre-planned consensus aimed at arriving at a result would have consequences.
