Opinion: Beware Of FFK By Leye Igbabo

That Chief Femi Fani Kayode popularly called FFK jumped from his former party to another is not really the big issue to me. This is because it has become part and parcel of Nigerian politicians especially as witnessed in this Fourth Republic to switch at will, from one party to another. After all, FFK was not elected under any party to represent the people.

I have, on a number of occasions, seen situations where validly elected officials under a particular party would just pack his bag and baggage and take the next available flight to another party without any slightest provocation from either party members or division of any kind within the rank and file of such party. Anyway, I do not wish to change the course of this write up by attempting to mention long list of those in this category of fair-weather and mercantile politicians.

However, what pricks me about FFK’s defection was his claim to have been led by the Holy Spirit to take such a suicidal step which seemed right in his sight but which end is political perdition.

Since FFK has elected to hide under the leading of the Holy Spirit to perpetrate this unpardonable act of betrayal, it is also imperative to smoke him out of that hideout by employing the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

Methinks FFK ought to know that the Holy Spirit is not an author of confusion (1Cor.14:33) and could not have ministered confusion unto any person except in a situation where such soul refuses to retain God in his knowledge and for such reason, God gives him to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convinient as clearly demonstrated by FFK. (Rom1:28)

A foetus knows the position of FFK as it borders on APC. He had said all that was sayable (both printable and unprintable; thinkable and unthinkable) concerning the maladministration of APC such that it will take centuries for such backlash to be completely obliterated from the minds of the people. And that is if it can ever be obliterated because the ones committed against the people by his forebears are still resonating till today!

So, how FFK finds it convenient to link his ignoble move (which was essentially borne out of self-centeredness) to the counselling of the Holy Spirit will not cease to get me baffled and bewildered for sometime to come.

If FFK could have the temerity and presumptuousness to go back to his vomit, then the scripture is eternally right to declare that the latter end of the one who acts in this manner shall be worse than his beginning.

2 Peter 2:19 ” For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.”

The implication of this scriptural saying is that if FFK had washed off his hand and distanced himself from the corruption, wastefulness and ineptitude of the APC government before now, only to come back to this same APC for inexcusable reasons, then his sojourn to political oblivion is nearer than ever.

The scripture even goes further in that 2 Peter 2:22, to describe him as a dog who turned to his own vomit again, and the sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire! Verse 21 says it would have been better for such a person not to have known the way of righteousness, (in this case, the way of PDP) than after they have known it, to turn away from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

It is true that God is merciful and slow to anger but again FFK should know that the merciful nature of God may not be general in that those who lied against and grieved the Holy Spirit in this manner were never spared in His subsequent wrath! Ask Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5, about their experience when they grieved the Holy Spirit and you will surely see caution and apply it accordingly!

Having said this, this piece essentially seeks to caution the unsuspecting public to beware of the activities of FFK so as not to jointly partake of the impending wrath of God. That was the antics of devil and his agents. There is nothing the devil cannot do to deceive and attract people to his kingdom in hell knowing fully that he is irretrievably bound to eternity in hell!

For this reason, the scripture goes further to say that the devil and his agents sometimes transform themselves into angels of light in order to pretend as though they were true prophets of God. This is the reason FFK said he was led by the holy Spirit so as to gain undue support of the people that may likely end together with him in political oblivion.

The Bible strongly warns us to beware of their actions through the knowledge of the fruits they bear.

Matthew 7:15-23 has this to say:

“Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits……. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruits neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit…”

Needless to repeat here the betraying actions of his forebears which keep on resonating each time FFK behaves as the true son of his father?

It is a common saying that a kid will never be breastfed by the sheep. And there is no way the offspring of a backstabber can change his nature except he is not a true born of his father.

FFK has only demonstrated his true paternity. So, beware of FFK and flee from every appearance of FFK! Those who have ears, let them ear.
