High Chief Tunde Ilori Elerewe has been assassinated in Owo town, Ondo State.
Precision Online Newspaper gathered that the Chief was killed while returning from where he and other Chiefs had gone to settle dispute.
Details of the dispute still remain sketchy as at press time.
But the Precision Online Newspaper gathered that the Chief’s visit to the place where he had gone to settle land dispute, was on the behest of the Olowo of Owo.
Another Chief (name unknown) who was also attacked is currently receiving treatment at a health facility in the town.
Meanwhile, youths in Owo tonight protested by blocking major roads in the town. Particularly the youths blocked and burned tyres at the First Bank area where the Chief controlled before his death.
