The Akapinsha of Ipinsha, HRH Oba Olufunmilayo Omoniyi has called on the people of Ifelodun Community in Akure South Local Government area of Ondo State to maintain proper care of a solar powered borehole donated to the community.
He made this call during the commissioning of a solar powered motorized borehole donated by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Ifelodun Community, Engr Olusegun Stephen Olumilola said the community is grateful to the Federal Government for the newly created polling unit 55, ward 11 in Akure South Local Government.
He also appreciated the effort of Senator Ayo Akinyelure, senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial district in the donation of a multi-million naira solar powered borehole by the Federal Ministry of Works to the community.
“We the entire members of the community acknowledge your good works at both your first and second term in office as Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial district in terms of provision of infrastructure to ease the difficulty of the people especially in the provision of portable water, provision of health facilities, construction of road networks, provision of transformers to electrify various communities, issuance of scholarships to indigent students and other sustainable for the less privilege and widows”, the chairman added.
Engr Olumilola however noted that Ifelodun Community hasn’t felt the presence of the senator, he called on him to assist them in facilitating some developmental projects that is affecting the community which includes provision health center, provision of transformer, good road networks, provision of street light as some miscreants and unscrupulous elements take advantage of lack of street light in the area to wreck havoc on members of the community.
“Our prayer and request is that you turn your merciful and good eyes to us and use your good office to help us meet some of these our requests if not all”, the chairman noted.
Aside from the commissioning, the community also celebrated their end of the year party where children were given various gift by the father Christmas, there was also free medical check-up for members of the community and cash gifts were distributed to widows.
