Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have apprehended a suspected ritualist, Alfa Tunde Olayiwola for being in possession of a fresh human head.
He was arrested at Ajagbale Area of Oka, Ondo town.
Parading the suspect in Akure, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Oyeyemi Oyediran said the ritualist who planned to use the human head for money ritual confessed to the offence.
The police commissioner noted that three suspected cultists, three murderers and two kidnappers who perpetrated the abduction of a Deeper life church Pastor at Irese area of Akure recently have been nabbed.
The Police boss explained that the force also nabbed one Ismaila Ojo who is a hunter. He allegedly shot a 70 year-old man who is his neighbour while defecating in the bush at the back of his house. His claim was that he was testing his Dane gun.
“On the 23rd of December, 2021, at about 0920hrs, the Police received an information that a self acclaimed cleric named Alfa Tunde Olayiwola ‘m’ a suspected ritualist was about to receive a consignment suspected to be a Human head. The Police immediately swung into action and the cleric was apprehended at Ajagbale Area of Oka, Ondo town.
“A fresh human head was found in his custody. He confessed that the head found in his possession was to be used to ensure he had a better life,” Oyediran.
In an interview, the suspected ritualist, Tunde Olayiwola who is from Osogbo, Osun State, confessed to the offence, adding that he wants to use the fresh human head for money ritual.
The suspect who spoke in yoruba language, said he bought the fresh head at sum of N60,000 from a person he refused to mention his identity.
“I want to use the head to boost my fortune through ritual. I can’t lie, i bought the head from someone for N60,000. I can’t mention his name. The person brought it for me at Oka area in Ondo town.
