The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure the Ondo state capital, has set free the founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa.
Justice Hamma Barka, who delivered the ruling on behalf of other Judges, quashed the judgement of the Ondo state High Court which sentenced Mr Alfa to life imprisonment.

The Precision NG reports that on October 6, 2020, Justice Olusegun Odusola of the State High Court sentenced Prophet Alfa to life imprisonment over the disappearance of one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole in his church in November, 2019.

The Appeal Court in its ruling on Friday, ruled that the circumstantial evidence the high court based its judgement upon to convict Mr Alfa is not enough to convict him.
The Court therefore discharged and acquitted him of complicity in the disappearance of Gold Eniola Kolawole.
