Armed Forces Day: Anglican Priest Hails FG, States, Others

Government at all levels have been commended for the yearly celebration and the remembrance of the fallen heroes who fought for the unity of Nigeria.

An Anglican priest and the vicar in charge of Emmanuel Anglican church, Edo Ikare in Akoko north East local government area of Ondo state, Venerable Isaac Awowole, reminded government and well to do Nigerians as well as corporate organizations not to neglect the welfare of their families.

He was particular about the widows and the orphans so as to serve as motivation and incentives to the serving military personnel and para military officers.

The cleric condemned the situations where dependent relatives or relations waiting for years before they were paid the gratuity and their entitlements of their breadwinners who died in active service.

Awowole advocated for scholarship scheme and empowerment programmes that will reduce their hardship now that there is high cost of living due to galloping inflation in the country.

The christian cleric condemned in a strong terms the daylight killing of police sergeant along Oke Maria in Oka Akoko by unknown gunmen describing it wicked and ungodly.

He commended the three day spiritual and divine efforts coupled with fasting by the entire Akoko residents to put a stop to ritual killings, kidnapping and all those who are collaborating with criminals in the area to be exposed.

The cleric fervently prayed for security in Nigeria, Ondo state and in Akokoland so as to enhance more investment.
