There was sporadic gunshots in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Monday as the immediate past Governor, Rauf Aregbesola visited the State.
During the tension-soaked visit, Aregbesola held a meeting with his political associates where he endorsed the former Governorship Candidate of the ADP in the 2018 election, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
A close associate of Aregbesola, Bola Ilori who confirmed the shootings on his Facebook profile, said no amount of intimidation would deter Aregbesola’s candidate from winning the APC ticket.
He wrote:
“Following this legendary footsteps of our referred leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Osun APC leadership today resolved to move against Oyetola for poor performance and other offences worst than Ambode in Osun.
“Oyetola thugs fired several gunshots at Aregbesola’s, Adeoti (Sheu) convoy after declaring his preferred choice for Governorship. The attackers were repelled by combined efforts of Police, DSS, NSCDC etc and luckily casually was recorded,” Ilori alleged.
