The Oyo State Muslim community has felicitated the new and 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Moshood Lekan Balogun on his ratification as the new Olubadan.
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde had last week Monday affirmed that the ex senator is the new Olubadan as recommended by the Olubadan-in-Council.
Quoting from the Holy Quran, Chapter 3 Vs 26, the Muslim community in a statement signed by Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni and Alhaji Murisiku Abidemi Siyanbade both Chairman and Secretary of the body, prayed God’s wisdom for the new monarch.
“Say: O Allah, Master of the Kingdom! Thou givest the kingdom to whomsoever Thou pleasest and takest away the kingdom from whomsoever Thou pleasest; and Thou exaltest whom Thou pleasest and abasest whom Thou pleasest; In Thine hand is the good; surely, Thou hast power over all things,” the Quran quote read.
A peep into his profile indicated that Alhaji Senator Moshood Olalekan Balogun (Ph.D.) from Ali-Iwo compound, holds Doctorate, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration; Public & Social Administration and Economics from Columbus International University, Brunel University, and Manchester University respectively.
“We are elated and full of praise to Allah (swt), for counting you worthy to be bestowed this enviable honour. Not all that climb the ladder of Olubadan ascendancy get to the zenith of the stool. Only a chosen few attain it.
“You started this journey in 1986, that was 36 years ago, when you became Mogaji Alli-Iwo. We pray to Almighty Allah that you reign for longer than the 36 years. We also pray that Ibadan shall enjoy Peace and Prosperity during your reign, in shaa Allah.
“Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Long may you reign. Once again, Kabiyesi, please accept our hearty felicitation,” the statement read.
