As Ondo NUJ organizes 3days Medical Checkup for Journalists, Veterans Spouses

In fulfillment of its current leadership promise under the Chairman, Comrade Leke Adegbite, the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has concluded arrangements with the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, OSPHCDA, to organize a three Day Medical checkup for journalists, veteran journalists and their spouses.

The first Quarterly Health programme will hold between Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th June, 2022.

According to a Press Statement signed by the Acting Secretary of the Union, Comrade Ngozi Aduloju, the medical check up will take place at NUJ Press Centre Clinic, Alagbaka Akure.

The statement indicates that the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Adegbite has promised that the health event will be held every quarter because many journalists do not have enough time to visit hospitals regularly to know their health status.

The NUJ Chairman disclosed that health experts in carrying out check-up for journalists in the areas such as their Sugar level, Blood pressure, deadly Hepatitis B and C among others

The Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Francis Akanbiemu had recently received the State NUJ Executives who paid him a courtesy visit in his office and promised the state government’s support to journalists in the state.

Akanbiemu said the government and particularly the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency was  proud of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) in ondo state especially for the selfless roles played by the union during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Akanbiemu said the impact of Journalists in the success recorded by the health sector in Ondo State cannot be quantified.
