A federal House of Representatives Candidate for Owo & Ose federal Constituency, Chief Oladipo Quadri has opined that the defection of a top member of the party in Kano and former Education Minister, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau will not affect the chances of the Party in the 2023 general Election.

Senator Shekarau had yesterday alongside his supporters defected to the People’s democratic party, the party he dumped few years back.

In his reaction, Chief Oladipo Quadri who was unanimously voted as flagbearer of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP to contest for the Owo & Ose Constituency federal seat in the House of Representatives said the defection of Shekarau Speaks volume of the Kind of Politician he is.

“In Nigeria today, there’s no discipline on the part of many of our politicians. They jump from one party to another”
.
“More worrisome is the calibre of some politicians who supposed to be role models to the upcoming ones”

“for Our democracy to thrive and sustainable, there must be Political discipline, selfless service and respect for the Party’s Constitution, hierrachy ,ideals and aspirations”

He therefore called on INEC and other stakeholders in the country to rescue the Nation’s democracy through the amendment of electoral law by making it criminal against unjustifiable defections.

Chief Quadri who said defection has become a norm among Nigeria Politicians blamed the movement of the Current Senator on greed and Selfishness.

He encouraged party faithful across the Country to be focused, describing the NNPP as the third force which is out to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians.

The House of Representatives hopeful said the Party in Owo and Ose is daily receiving scores of defectors from the two ‘giant parties’ in the country.

He expressed confidence that his antecedents in the area will place him ahead of Other Constants in next year’s general election.
