Students of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, have been directed to return campus for academic activities immediately.
According to a circular dated Friday, 14th October, 2022 and signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu Oke Saliu, all students of the University were directed to resume activities on Monday, 17th October, 2022.
The circular read in part: “Following the suspension of the national strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Senate of OAUSTECH has directed that continuation of lectures should commence on Monday, 17th October, 2022.”
OAUSTECH’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Emmanuel Ologunorisa, heartily welcomed all students back on campus, wishing them a happy resumption. He assured that no stone would be left unturned in his quest to transform OAUSTECH into a global institution through partnerships and collaborations with world-class institutions across the globe.
While the strike action embarked upon by ASUU lasted, the University has initiated relationships with leading universities in the United States, Brazil, Cameroon and The Gambia. The University signed MoU with University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC). It is in the process of signing MoU with Morgan State University, Maryland, Auburn University, Alabama, USA, University of Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, University of The Gambia, Banjul and ICT University, Yaounde in the Cameroon.
