Kidnapped Ondo Monarch Released After 7 Days

After spending seven days at his kidnappers den, the abducted Monarch, the Oloso of Oso, Ajowa in Akoko northwest local government area of Ondo state has been released.

Family sources said Oba Clement Omoola Jimoh was released on Wednesday (yesterday) and now under medical observation at an undisclosed hospital.

The monarch was forcefully whisked away by gunmen last week Thursday in his palace in the night leading to tension and anxiety in the ancient town of Oso-Ajowa and the entire Akokoland.

It could not be confirmed if the ransom placed on Oba Jimoh was paid or not.

The abductors had demanded 100million naira and later reduced it to 10million naira.

According to information gathered from Akoko North West LGA, the Ajowa monarch was finally set free by his abductors on Wednesday evening.

It was also confirmed that Oloso of Oso-Ajowa is in stable condition but currently undergoing medical treatment in an undisclosed location.

The Executive Chairman of his Local Government, Honourable Ayodele Samson Akande, FCA in high jubilation was quoted as thanking the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his Executives for their support during the trying period.

Akande also thanked all the Security Agencies including Amotekun and the Vigilantes for mounting serious pressure on the abductors leading to the release of the monarch.

The Council Chairman equally used the opportunity to doused tension and allayed the fear of the people over the unpalatable occurrence.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of ANWLGA for their support and confidence in his government and promised that more efforts will be made to beef-up security in all the communities to forestall further breakdown of laws and security by miscreants, bandits and thieves.

It would be recalled that the Chairman, Hon. Akande swooped to action calling for an emergency security meeting immediately the monarch abduction was confirmed by the Police.

Since the moment the Oloso of Oso-Ajowa was abducted by gunmen, Akande made several frantic efforts including being in touch constantly with the families of the kidnapped monarch as well as other critical stakeholders for updates

Meanwhile, there was wild jubilation in Ajowa Akoko as the news of his release came in.
