Breaking: Akeredolu Approves Conditional Release Of Impounded Motorcycles To Owners

Public Service Announcement

In response to appeals from various quarters, Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, has approved that motorcycles impounded in the course of Enforcement of the Ban on Motorcycles Operations beyond 6am- 6pm should be released as from today, Tuesday 6th December, 2022 based on the following conditions:

That the motorcycles where duly registered before arrest and that they do not have any other criminal case.

That the motorcycle owners are registered with the State Information Technology Agency (SITA)

Payment of a fine of 10,000.00 Naira to the Board of Internal Revenue after submitting proof of ownership to Amotekun Corps.

This should be done in the next 14 days from today which is between (6th-19th of December 2022), for two weeks. Failure for which the Okada would be confiscated.

Government wishes to remind members of the public that further violation of the ban will have the motorcycles forfeited.
