Robbers Sighted In Akure Banking Axis Of Alagbaka Actually Attacked A Customer

There was anxiety in the wee afternoon in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, as multiple reports from residents of the city lay claim to robbers attacking a commercial bank in the banking axis of Alagbaka.

Precision Online Newspaper, however gathered from residents who witnessed the incident realtime, that it was a case of an attack on a customer who had just left one of the banks with huge sum.

An eyewitness who simply go by the name, Tiwa said he escaped with the aid of God, adding that they were up to 20 in number.

His text read, “My brother they double crossed my car. Na one way I take japa.”

Another resident who worked at a shopping mall close to the area and go by the name Gbenga clarified, “Is close to my office is not a bank robbery sir. Someone who collected from bank was trailed and they collected d money from him.”

Meanwhile, the police spokesperson in Ondo State, Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya in a terse message obtained by Precision Online Newspaper urged residents not to panic, adding that no bank was attacked as reported in some quarters.

“Good Afternoon all, there was no Robbery Attack on any Commercial Bank in Akure, however a man who withdrew a huge sum was accosted and robbed along the road. Thanks”

Men of the Amotekun operatives were later observed engaging in stop and search of vehicles around the area.
