Adeleye Yekini Biodun Anifowose, a Professor of Geological Remote Sensing, will on Tuesday, February 7, deliver the 148th inaugural lecture of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
This is contained in a statement signed by the University’s Registrar, Mr Richard Arifalo, which stated that the event is billed for the Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium at 3PM.
Prof. Anifowose who is the Dean School of Earth and Mineral Sciences (SEMS) will be speaking on the topic, Eyes in the Sky: Exploring Earth’s Resources.
The event will be Chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Adenike Temidayo Oladiji.
A Brief about Anifowose
Prof. Anifowose, an alumnus of University of Ibadan, joined the services of the institution in October 1986 as a graduate assistant in the Department of Applied Geology and rose to the Professorial Cadre on the 1st of October 2015.
Anifowose, who has supervised 19 postgraduates’ dissertations, is a distinguished scholar of repute with over 33 articles published in reputable journals to his credit. He has also served as External assessor, Nigerian Defense Academy Kaduna April 2019, External Assessor Federal University of Technology Owerri, October 2019, Member, Panel of Assessors for accreditation, University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa Ghana, Member, Federal Ministry of Environment, panel for the review of the EIA of the proposed Escravos-Lagos pipeline phase 2 system prepared by Nigerian National Petroleum corporation (NNPC).
He has also served as member, National Universities Commission accreditation team to Gregory University, Uturu Abia state, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Kaduna and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, Bauchi State. Professor Anifowose is happily married and blessed with children.
